COLOPL, Inc. pursues the mission of "Entertainment in Real Life"—making everyday life more enjoyable and more wonderful through the power of entertainment. We believe that AI technology is a powerful means of opening up new creative possibilities, and we will actively use it to deliver new value.

We have established the following policy to foster an environment in which our creators can use AI with confidence, express their originality, and deliver new experiences to users.

1. Exploring New Expression through Collaboration between Creators and AI

1-1. AI Use Grounded in Creators' Intent and Responsibility

  • ・Creative Agency and Responsibility AI is a partner that expands our creators' creativity, regardless of the stage of production where it is used or the proportion of content it generates. It is always our creators who set the standards for a work's concept, worldview, and quality -- and who bear responsibility for the results.
  • ・ Expanding Expression through AI How and to what extent AI is used differs from one work to another. By applying AI in the way best suited to each form of expression, we create inspiration and new perspectives that conventional workflows alone could not deliver.

1-2. Education and Learning Environments that Support Creators' Growth

  • ・ Cultivating AI Literacy We provide programs for learning the fundamentals of how AI works and how to use it, so that creators can work with AI with confidence.
  • ・ Keeping Pace with the Latest Technology We constantly monitor the rapid evolution of AI technology and quickly share and roll out useful tools and workflows, creating an environment where creators can focus on creation.
  • ・Promoting Knowledge Sharing We encourage exchange among creators and researchers both inside and outside the company, creating opportunities for mutual learning and collaboration.

2. Systems that Support Creativity through Safe and Secure AI Use

2-1. Ensuring Transparency

  • ・Appropriate Communication about AI Use In our use of AI technology, we give due consideration to transparency, taking into account legal and contractual obligations, the manner in which AI is used, the nature of the content, and the impact on users.
  • ・Establishing Usage Rules We maintain and operate internal rules on the scope of AI use, data handling, and the attribution of rights, so that creators can use AI without hesitation.

2-2. Minimizing Risk and Continuously Evaluating Safety

  • ・Risk Assessment and Countermeasures Reflecting the characteristics of games and entertainment works, we assess AI-related risks at each stage of development and operation and take the necessary countermeasures.
  • ・Measures against Inappropriate Content To keep out content that offends public order and decency —such as defamation, discrimination, or excessive depictions of violence—we put in place safety measures and review processes appropriate to the AI services we use and the nature of our content, and we review them on an ongoing basis.

2-3. Ensuring Security and Privacy

  • ・Protecting Personal Information We strictly manage any personal information contained in the data our AI systems handle, and maintain a security framework to prevent leaks and unauthorized access.
  • ・Strengthening the Security of Operating Environments We regularly review the security measures protecting our networks and servers, and promptly remediate any vulnerabilities we find.
  • ・Countermeasures against Attacks and Misuse We rigorously monitor our systems and manage logs so that AI does not become a vector for attacks or misuse, and we stay prepared for security incidents.

3. Responsible AI Services and Our Social Responsibility

3-1. Selecting AI Services with Consideration for Fairness

  • ・Selection and Ongoing Evaluation of AI Services and Models For the AI services and models we use, we review and screen -- in accordance with our internal guidelines—the information published by their providers and developers, including how training data is handled, terms of use, and their approach to intellectual property, and we continue to evaluate them throughout their use.
  • ・Consideration for Fairness When selecting and using AI services and models, we look beyond performance, drawing on evaluation information published by developers to consider fairness and the impact on diverse forms of expression.

3-2. Respecting Intellectual Property Rights and Licenses

  • ・Verifying Terms of Use and Rights We review the terms of the AI services we use and the conditions governing generated content, working to prevent infringement of rights.
  • ・Copyright Protection and Proper Use We respect copyright in creators' works and in AI-assisted content alike, and prevent unauthorized reproduction and secondary use.
  • ・Legal and Ethical Compliance We use AI with compliance as our highest priority, in line with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards in Japan and abroad.

3-3. Fulfilling Our Social Responsibility

  • ・Consideration for Society and Cooperation with Stakeholders We recognize the impact our business has on society, and we place importance on communication with our diverse stakeholders, including users, partner companies, and local communities.
  • ・Transparent Management of Deliverables We keep the workflow of AI-generated deliverables clear and, where appropriate, introduce monitoring processes to manage them.

COLOPL values the originality of its creators and will continue to create new entertainment experiences through the power of AI technology. Guided by this policy, we pursue harmony between technology and creativity and keep taking on challenges for the future. Always mindful of our social responsibility and of fairness, we will maintain an environment in which creators can use AI with confidence, and fulfill our mission of "Entertainment in Real Life."

Each item in this policy is a guideline for our active and responsible use of AI. We will continue to review and update it as technology and society evolve, and to work toward an ever-better creative environment.
